Chanel Takes Flight

Karl Lagerfeld transformed Paris's Grand Palais into Terminal 2C of “Chanel Airlines” for Chanel's Spring/Summer 2016 show, turning the entire collection into a playful interpretation of air travel and the golden age of flying. The accompanying accessories were built around the same idea, with the house's signature bags reworked in aviation-inspired colours, prints and materials.

This Classic Flap is a particularly distinctive expression of the collection, combining blue, white and red graphic lambskin with silver hardware. The abstract print gives the otherwise instantly recognisable Chanel silhouette a distinctly 1960s travel-poster feel, while the double-flap construction and chain strap retain the codes of one of the house's most enduring handbag designs. Similar Airline Classic Flaps from the collection are now traded as incredibly rare and archival pieces.

Material: Printed blue, white and red lambskin leather with leather-interwoven chain strap and silver-tone metal hardware.

Features: Signature double flap construction with interlocking CC turn-lock, double leather-and-chain shoulder strap and abstract aviation-inspired graphic print.

This bag presents in exceptionally good condition overall, with barely perceptible signs of previous use. Specific notes are as follows:

The lambskin body is in excellent condition throughout, with no noticeable marking, staining or soiling across the surface, corners or edges.
The bag has retained its original shape and structure with no noticeable loss of form.
Metal hardware is in exceptionally good condition with minimal to no signs of use. The exterior CC closure remains particularly well preserved, while the interior CC retains its original protective plastic seal.
Chain strap and leather interwoven sections show minimal to no noticeable signs of use.
Interior is in excellent condition, showing only very light signs of use with no obvious marking, staining or soiling.

Accompanied by the original Chanel dustbag featuring the hand-sketched Karl Lagerfeld motif. The dustbag itself shows mild signs of soiling consistent with storage.

Once your bag is on its way, you'll receive a tracking link by email so you can follow it from our hands to yours. We ship worldwide; international buyers may be liable for import duties or taxes levied by their destination country at the point of arrival.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
