Chanel Takes Texas

Karl Lagerfeld's Paris-Dallas Métiers d’Art collection for Pre-Fall 2014 brought the house's Parisian codes into a distinctly Texan setting, with Western references running throughout the collection. The “Old Glory” handbag series played directly on the American flag, replacing traditional quilting with embossed stars and stripe motifs.

This burgundy lambskin version is one of the more distinctive interpretations, combining the softened, aged leather with tonal star and stripe embossing and gunmetal hardware. The result is a classic Chanel flap reworked through Lagerfeld's deliberately theatrical American-Western lens, making it a particularly recognisable piece from the rare 2014 Paris-Dallas archive.

Material: Burgundy aged lambskin with embossed star and stripe detailing, leather-interwoven chain strap and gunmetal-tone hardware.

Features: Signature Chanel single flap silhouette with interlocking CC turn-lock, double leather-and-chain shoulder strap, star-embossed quilting and horizontal embossed stripe detailing inspired by the American flag.

This bag presents in very good condition overall, with minimal signs of previous use. Specific notes are as follows:

Burgundy lambskin body is in good condition throughout, with no noticeable scratching, significant wear or tearing. The embossed stars and stripes are in very good condition.
Sides remain in good condition, with minor creasing consistent with the softer nature of the leather.
Base and corners are in very good condition, with minimal signs of wear and no signs of marking or darkening.
Back of the bag is in good condition, with the leather back opening showing only the faintest signs of use.
Interlocking CC hardware is in very good condition, while metal hardware throughout shows only very faint signs of age and wear.
Leather chain strap is in good condition, with more noticeable darkening towards the upper sections of the handles, as pictured.
Interior is in good condition with light signs of previous use.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
