This baguette-format bag, produced in 2003–2004, belongs to a strand of Lagerfeld’s output defined by graphic, oversized branding: taking the house's most sacred symbols and doing something unexpected with them. Here, the CC monogram and the No. 5 numeral (Chanel's two most loaded icons) are blown up into bold appliquéd forms and dropped onto a two-tone body of ecru canvas and quilted silver metallic leather. The quilted lattice nods deliberately to the Classic Flap's matelassé, but at pop-art scale it reads as something else entirely. Irreverent, graphic, and very early 2000s — this piece personifies Lagerfeld’s wit applied to the house’s most sacred symbols.

Size + Condition

Material: Ecru canvas body panelled with silver-tone quilted metallic leather, burgundy leather-threaded silver chain strap, and tonal contrast stitching throughout.

Features: Oversized appliqued navy CC logo to the canvas panel, appliqued burgundy 'No. 5' numeral to the quilted silver panel, a single leather-interwoven chain shoulder strap, and a top zip closure with a burgundy zip tape. Interior finished in silver quilted metallic lining with a cream canvas reverse and a burgundy 'CHANEL® / Made in Italy' label.

Era: Produced in 2003–2004 (Karl Lagerfeld Era, Serial No. 7474991).

Ecru canvas body is in good overall condition; very light yellowing is present to the interior canvas edges and base — minimal and barely perceptible in person.
Appliquéd CC logo is in very good condition with no lifting or wear to the edges.
Silver quilted metallic leather panel shows light surface wear and mild marking to the lower corners and base edges, consistent with age.
A very minor burgundy dye transfer from the leather chain threading is noted at the right-hand canvas attachment point — a small detail, visible in the product imagery.
Base of bag is in good condition with no structural damage or obvious marking.
Burgundy leather-interwoven chain strap is in very good condition with no obvious fraying or loss of colour.
Silver-tone hardware is in good condition with minimal signs of wear or tarnishing.
Interior is in near-pristine condition with minimal to no signs of use.

Once your bag is on its way, you'll receive a tracking link by email so you can follow it from our hands to yours. We ship worldwide; international buyers may be liable for import duties or taxes levied by their destination country at the point of arrival.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
