John Galliano introduced the Saddle Bag in Dior's Spring/Summer 2000 collection, and it immediately became one of the defining objects of the era. The asymmetric silhouette, the prominent D-buckle, and the Oblique canvas were everywhere: on Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, on Paris Hilton, and across every front row from Paris to New York. Discontinued in 2007, demand on the secondary market eventually became so significant that Maria Grazia Chiuri officially relaunched it in 2018. This is a Galliano-era original.

Market Note

The 2018 relaunch was driven directly by secondary market demand for the Galliano originals -- making this one of the clearest cases of vintage collector appetite forcing a house's hand. Original pieces from the early 2000s run remain actively traded, with the navy Oblique canvas and yellow stitching among the most recognisable colourways of the era. This example is accompanied by the original Christian Dior authenticity certificate card.

Material: Navy blue Oblique jacquard canvas body with navy leather trim, yellow contrast stitching throughout, and gold-tone hardware.

Features: Signature asymmetric saddle silhouette, gold-tone 'D' buckle at centre front with leather belt detail, gold-tone articulated chain-link handle attachments, single leather top handle, and a magnetic flap closure.

This bag presents in excellent pre-owned condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. Specific notes are as follows:

Oblique canvas body is in very good condition throughout, showing only the faintest traces of wear; no marks, pulls, or structural damage noted.
Side panels and base are in very good condition with no obvious signs of wear.
Navy leather trim is in good condition throughout; the top handle shows very light creasing consistent with carry, but no cracking or peeling.
Gold-tone 'D' buckle and all metal hardware are in good condition; only very faint, minor surface wear present -- not obvious in normal use or product imagery.
Interior presents in near-pristine condition with no signs of use.

Once your bag is on its way, you'll receive a tracking link by email so you can follow it from our hands to yours. We ship worldwide; international buyers may be liable for import duties or taxes levied by their destination country at the point of arrival.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
