The Fendi Spy arrived for Spring/Summer 2005 and immediately created something Fendi had never seen before: a waiting list. Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, its rounded silhouette, hidden compartments and distinctive hardware gave the bag its playful name and an outsized cultural footprint — Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Gwen Stefani among those photographed with it. 

This example is the Tortuga variant — one of the most sought-after iterations of the original run, distinguished by its tortoiseshell-effect calf leather handles and tassel, produced through a specialist tanning and finishing process that gives the leather its dramatic amber and dark brown grain. Paired with the classic Zucca canvas and pebbled leather body, it is one of the most texturally complex Spy configurations produced. Fendi marked the bag's 20th anniversary in 2025 with a full relaunch at £3,000–£4,900 — the clearest possible signal that the original-era Spy, particularly in rare material combinations, is the one worth holding.

Material: Tobacco FF Zucca canvas body with brown pebbled leather panelling and signature tortuga (tortoiseshell-effect) calf leather handles and tassel, finished with gold-tone hardware.

Features: Zucca FF monogram canvas body with brown pebbled leather trim, dual tortuga calf leather top handles, gold-tone ring clasp with engraved FENDI logo, tortuga calf leather tassel pull housing the signature hidden spy compartment, and concealed interior pocket. Interior finished in natural canvas lining.

This bag presents in good pre-owned condition. Wear is consistent with careful use and the age of the piece:

  • Tobacco Zucca canvas is in good condition, showing only mild signs of general wear.
  • Brown pebbled leather body is in good overall condition. Very faint, barely perceptible marking is noted to the front left; not immediately obvious.
  • Base of bag is in good condition with no obvious damage.
  • Tortuga calf leather handles are in good condition; one handle shows some slight creasing and surface wear to the leather.
  • Gold-tone hardware and spy compartment clasp are in generally good condition. Please note: the lower section of the front tortuga tassel is missing (visible in imagery).
  • The leather panel behind the front ring hardware feature shows more obvious signs of wear; this area sits behind the hardware and is not visible when the bag is worn.
  • Interior natural canvas lining is in very good condition with minimal signs of use.
  • Original hologram authentication tag present (ref. AE36781).

We ship worldwide; international buyers may be liable for import duties or taxes levied by their destination country at the point of arrival.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
