Archival Revival

The Petite Malle is Nicolas Ghesquière's reduction of Louis Vuitton's founding product, the trunk, into a wearable bag - his opening statement as creative director in 2014. Its hardware, proportions and S-lock closure all mimic full-size trunk construction in miniature, and the three red X's at the corner are a direct copy of a mark from one of the house's most famous historic commissions, a banker's trunk finished in red toile. It reads less as a handbag in the conventional sense and more as a piece of the house's own archive, shrunk down and made to be carried.

Material: Monogram coated canvas with black calfskin leather trim, golden brass hardware.

Features: Twin swing-latch clasps flanking a central engraved LV S-lock closure, top leather carry handle, adjustable and detachable leather shoulder strap, riveted corner hardware, three red X's at the lower right corner (a reference to the historic trunk detail the bag is modelled on).

Era: Louis Vuitton, launched Fall/Winter 2014 as part of Nicolas Ghesquière's debut collection as creative director. Date code FL4196 confirms production in France, week 49 of 2016.

This bag presents in very good condition overall, with little to no signs of wear. Specific notes are as follows:

All corners present with no visible scratching.
The leather body is in very good condition throughout, including 3 red X detailing.
Metal hardware and additional leather strap show no scratching and are in very good condition. .
The interior is in excellent condition and appears almost unused.

Accompanied by the original leather crossbody strap, and original Louis Vuitton dustbag.

Once your bag is on its way, you'll receive a tracking link by email so you can follow it from our hands to yours. We ship worldwide; international buyers may be liable for import duties or taxes levied by their destination country at the point of arrival.

If your bag isn't quite right, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. Returns must be sent back in the exact condition received, with all accompanying items (dust bag, authenticity card and packaging where supplied), and with the EBV London security tag attached and intact. Return postage is arranged by you using a fully tracked and insured service — we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK or DHL Express internationally.
